2024 is almost over—and I swear, in the blink of an eye, the year is over. It feels like I was standing outside yesterday, January 1st 2024, watching the neighbourhood fireworks display, all excited for the year ahead and imagining all the things I’d create. And now, somehow, I’m sitting reflecting on the year.
But looking back on this year, I’ve got plenty to be proud of in all aspects of life. From a crafty perspective, I managed to finish around 40 sewing projects—which, honestly, blows my mind! From dresses to skirts, through bold and busy fabrics, I’ve been hard at work creating my little dream wardrobe. I got braver with styling my me-made creations, sharing my process and I even started a (short-but-sweet, 4-part) series—basically, my own little crafting “series”—where I set out to create my dream autumn wardrobe.
The only plot twist? My sewing machine, Greta, unexpectedly called it quits mid-series. Tragic, I know. But don’t worry, there will be a Series 2 in 2025 because I’m not done with my autumn wardrobe. I have a vision that will come to life, ain’t no doubt about it!
Projects I’m Excited to Start
I’ve got a whole slew of new projects I can’t wait to dive into in 2025, and they’re a mix of things I’ve always wanted to do and challenges that have been lingering on my crafty bucket list. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on my radar:
Knitting & Crocheting: A Fresh Start
I’m reentering the world of knitting and crochet, and I’m so excited about it! I know the basics of both, but it’s been almost 10 years since I completed a project. Enter: the Petite Knit Key Sweater. I honestly cannot get this sweater out of my head. This sweater is gorgeous, and I have it firmly on my vision board for one of my big goals for the year. And let’s be honest I’m blessed (or cursed, depending on who you ask) with the kind of “maker’s hubris” that makes me think, Of course I can make that! So, I’m going to give it a go. Check back with me on December 31st, 2025.

I’ve always leaned toward crochet in the past, but now something about knitting is calling to me. I do want to master both, though, so I’m planning on jumping back into crochet, too. However, I looked up some free knitting patterns to see what i was getting myself into, and it is utterly confusing. It’s like I’m reading a foreign language (which, to be fair, I kinda am). So I am really curious to see how the year plays out.
A Wool Coat
One of the most exciting things on my list this year is making a coat. I’m lucky enough to be collaborating with Nooteboom Textiles, and I picked out a gorgeous bolt of 100% wool boucle fabric from their collection. I’ve been dreaming of using it for a beautiful coat, and I think the Carmen Coat from Sycamore Road Patterns would be the perfect match for it. But I’ve also been eyeing a few other coat patterns, like the fun and sleek options from Vikisews, like Saana or Hayden.

There’s something about the process that just seems to like it will hit the spot! Plus to me it is the epitome of winter wardrobe luxury, and I’m excited to dive into this project, even if it’s a bit more ambitious than my usual makes.
A Blazer

Another project that’s been on my list for a while is a blazer. I’ve tried before but didn’t quite finish life got in the way. But I’m confident that 2025 is the year I finally make it happen. I’ve got my eye on the Heather Blazer by Friday Pattern Co., but I’m also considering the Freddie Jacket for something a little more challenging. I think it could be a nice long-term project like this is exactly the kind of thing I can really sink my teeth into.
The Year of the Pants (Take Two)
A couple of years ago, I declared it the “Year of the Pants” and set a goal to make four pairs. I only made two, so I’m reclaiming the title for 2025. This time, I’m going to follow through and make at least four pairs of pants. One of my favourite creators on Instagram is Alexandria Arnold. She’s like a pants-making machine, and I always love to hear her deep dives into patterns and pants construction.
My plans include patterns like the Dawn Jeans and Isle Jeans, and anything that will let me tackle the flat felled seam. I’m ready to take another stab at a pants-focused year and hopefully get it right this time. Who knows? Maybe this will be the year I make the perfect pair of jeans!

My Crafting Journey in Monthly Round-Ups
So, I’ve had this blog for a while now, but I know I could be putting more energy into it. I’m always thinking of new post ideas, but again, life just gets in the way.
Lately, I’ve been really inspired by Sarah from Les Perlines and her monthly round-ups in her newsletters. She’s shared in these newsletters a round-up of her month—her projects, what she’d been loving, and a trend radar which i loovveee—and I thought, that’s exactly what I want to do! So in 2025, I’m gonna try to commit to sharing monthly round-ups on the blog.
Each month, I’ll give you a peek behind the scenes of my crafting life, including the projects I’ve been working on, things I’ve been loving, and the moments that have brought me joy. It’ll be a little creative snapshot of my month, and I’m excited to see what it looks like this time next year. I think it’ll be fun to look back at my own progress as the year goes on.

Shout out to @genuinelyempatterns on Instagram for creating this amazing vision board template! It’s the perfect way for me to put my goals for the year down on paper—or, in this case, in a blog post. This vision board has been such a fun way to visualize my plans and aspirations for 2025.
For my vision board, I’ve blended personal, lifestyle, and crafting goals. There are projects I’ve been dreaming of for ages, but I also wanted a more flexible approach than something like the Make 9 challenge. I’m not a fan of strict restrictions, so I figured a mood board would give me the freedom to explore, adapt, and really enjoy the process throughout the year.
Here’s to 2025, and to all the exciting things it holds—creativity, growth, and new experiences! 🥂
